At Gibson Howlin Lawyers, we’re a dynamic and growing firm of 8 lawyers, currently based in Cronulla and soon expanding into the Sydney CBD. We are seeking a highly skilled and commercially minded lawyer with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience to join our team.
We are looking to expand our Insolvency & Tax litigation team. Our work primarily consists of disputes involving the Australian Taxation Office which includes plenty of opportunities for Court appearance work and liaising with stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Advising on complex commercial transactions, restructures & insolvency matters.
- Handling tax disputes, both legal and tax technical, against the ATO and Revenue NSW.
- Representing clients in negotiations, mediations & litigation.
- Working closely with clients, creditors, and insolvency practitioners to achieve desired outcomes.
- Contributing to business development and firm growth initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 4 years PQE in insolvency law; tax law knowledge as well is ideal.
- Sound technical knowledge of insolvency and restructuring law.
- Commercial acumen & problem-solving skills – you love finding strategic solutions!
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-based environment.
- A client-first mindset with strong advocacy & negotiation skills.
- Admission as a lawyer in NSW and the High Court of Australia.
